Meet Naomi.

 AdvDip Transpersonal Psychology (Art Therapy)

 A NATURAL PROGRESSION

My name is Naomi. I am an accredited transpersonal art therapist and a visual effects artist based in Byron Bay, Australia.

I work at the intersection of creativity, psychology, and lived experience. Across two disciplines, art therapy and visual storytelling, my focus has remained consistent. How humans make meaning, navigate change, and stay connected to what matters under pressure.

My path into creative therapy was shaped early by loss. When I was 20, my younger brother died in a car accident. At the time, I could not have named what was unfolding, but grief quietly recalibrated my relationship to life. It sharpened my attention, deepened my curiosity, and set me on a long exploration of vitality, meaning, and inner life.

After completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts, I spent many years working internationally as a visual effects artist and later as a VFX supervisor. I lived and worked across Toronto, New York, Cape Town, and Australia, collaborating with people from many cultures, disciplines, and ways of seeing. That work taught me rigor, discernment, and how to hold complexity without rushing resolution.

In 2020, during the first year of the pandemic, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Treatment was intense and life altering. Alongside medical care, creative practice became essential. Painting, journaling, and meditation offered a way to stay present with uncertainty and to listen inwardly without collapsing into it. This period clarified something that had been quietly forming for years.

After treatment, I undertook formal training in transpersonal psychology and art therapy. This work brought together my long standing interest in psychology, particularly Jungian and transpersonal perspectives, with a deeply embodied understanding of how creativity supports resilience, insight, and ethical self leadership.

My therapeutic work invites people to explore their inner landscape through image, symbol, metaphor, and reflective process. I am especially interested in working with life transitions, creative blocks, stress, illness, identity shifts, shadow material, and dreams. The aim is not self improvement, but deeper relationship with self, choice, and values.

I hold this work with care, clarity, and professional integrity. Clients are met as capable adults, able to engage complexity and to move forward with greater presence and agency in their lives and work.
